Privacy notice

This explains what Charlotte Metro Towing collects when you ask us for help, why we need it, who sees it and how long we keep it. It is written to be read, not to be impossible to read.

When you make a request we collect your name, a phone number and an email address, the vehicle you need help with, where it is, and where it should end up if it is being towed.

While the job runs we collect the messages you send, the photographs the driver takes of your vehicle, the driver's location so we can show you the truck, and the record of what you were quoted and what you paid.

We do not ask for anything we do not need to get a truck to you and bill the job correctly.

A tow truck cannot find you without a location, so this is the one piece of information the service genuinely cannot work without. You can share it from your device or type the address yourself.

Inside our system an exact location is treated as sensitive: staff access to it is recorded in an audit trail, and the driver sees what they need to reach you rather than your whole history. Location history from a job is deleted after 30 days.

The tracking link we send you is tied to a single job and stops working once that job is finished.

Calls between you and your driver are masked, so neither of you ends up holding the other's personal number after the job.

This site sets one cookie, and only one: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. It is not used to profile you.

There are no third-party advertising or analytics scripts on this site, and no content is loaded from another company's servers.

When a partner operator takes your job, they receive what they need to do it: your name, a contact number, the vehicle and the locations. They do not receive your account history or your other jobs.

Payment details are handled by our payment provider. Beyond that we share information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim about a job.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers.

Job records, quotes, invoices and the photographs attached to a job are kept for as long as we are required to keep financial and liability records. Detailed location traces are shorter-lived and are removed after 30 days.

Automated retention runs delete data once its retention period has passed, unless a record is subject to a legal hold.

You can request a truck without creating an account. An account only adds saved vehicles, your job history and your receipts in one place.

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are not legally required to keep. Contact us and we will deal with it.

Plain answers
